トタン屋根の上にあるタイヤ Tires on the tin roof
昔の自動車屋さんのようなジオラマを制作中です。
インターネットで昔の写真を検索しては参考にしています。
よく見かけるのがトタンで作られた屋根の上にある「タイヤ」です。
とても雰囲気がよく、是非、模型にも取り入れたいのですが、いろいろな疑問が湧いてきます。
I am making a diorama like an old car shop.
I search for old photos on the Internet and use them as a reference.
We often see “tires” on the roof made of galvanized iron.
The atmosphere is very good, and I definitely want to incorporate it into the model, but various questions arise.
そのタイヤはどのようにして屋根に乗せたのか？ How did you put the tire on the roof?
自動車屋にとって「タイヤ」は商売道具です。
新品ではないにしても、屋根の「重し」にしないで、中古として売ったらお金になると思うのです。「重し」なら石でも十分だと思うのです。

また、タイヤを屋根に乗せるときは、どうしたのでしょうか？

投げたらトタン屋根、凹まない？
それは、石でも同じことか…。
石、投げたら危ないよ！

何よりも私が制作中のトタン屋根側の二階には窓がない！！
二階からトタン屋根の上に出て、そっとタイヤを置くことは出来ない！！

こんなふうに妄想が妄想を連れてくる。
こういう妄想に一本の自然な筋が通った時、作品が完成しま。
そして、作品の奥に滲み出る「何か」と一緒に伝わるものがあると嬉しいと思っています。

And I’m glad that there is something that can be conveyed along with the “something” that oozes into the depths of the work.
今回の作品の場合、トタン屋根を傷めないように「タイヤ」を乗せるとしたら…
こんなふうに乗せるのがベストです。

そうなると、ミゼットの屋根には「足跡」… 汚れなのか、凹みなのか…
そういう所を再現したくなります。

いずれにしても、アイテム一つからいろいろな想像や妄想が膨らみます。
これは模型作りにおいて「完成」を目指すこと以外で楽しい部分だと思います。
